Avigna, is an expression of minimalistic opulence set in stone. As one approaches the residence from the road, the rectilinear composition of the front peripheral boundary, in which stone wood and metal are in harmonious co-existence greets the observer. Stone slabs as stepping stones and steps lit in golden light mark the entry.
The foyer boasts a wall of grey pebbles and a colourful mural of Lord Vinayaka. A view to the garden through the full glass french doors in the front wall creates openness. Once inside the magnificent main door, one is awestruck by the life-sized idol of the Lord, seated in meditation under the metallic tree. Shafts of bright lighting pierce the otherwise plain white false ceiling and soak the living in an ambience of warm glow.
Proceeding on to the double height atrium, the central space of convergence of circulation in the house, here Lord Ganesha in tapas (meditation) at the ground floor, and in Nardhana (dancing) at the first floor, static and dynamic respectively, reside in the atrium. The water body below the Lord, can be a still body or made turbulent by the ripples of the fountains, yet again portraying static and dynamic. The whole atrium is symbolic of the balance of the opposites, the yin and yang, while the stepping stones to the Lord, allude to reaching out to the Saviour, whether the surroundings are placid or turbulent.
A glass floor carefully transports us over the aquascape to the ornate dining and a sleek pristine kitchen. At the upper level, one lands at the glass bridge and the family lounge, a simple, uncluttered space for relaxation. The colourful bedrooms and rustic green terraces and gardens provide spaces of respite in this home of understated interiors where the art takes the center stage. The 7 Vinayakas of the house make their noticeable presence felt at every step justifying the name of the house.
