Dr. Rajan’s residence and clinic at the posh Nungambakkam locality is a 4 storeyed structure with the house at the upper levels and commercial spaces below.
The east facing clinic on the ground floor contains a large waiting area with a reading lounge and an exclusive VIP lounge along with the doctor’s consulting room, additional consulting rooms and staff dining facilities. The huge curvilinear ceiling is inspired from the cochlea of the inner ear with spot lights following the same profile bestowing abundant lighting to those seated below. The colour palette comprises varied browns, yellows and golds offset by white creating a richness which blends the contemporary with the rustic. The greenery is brought in through indoor potted plants at selective locations and a landscaped water court adjacent to the waiting area. The Buddha statue on the liquid surface with an artificial sky ceiling above, is a silent spectator to the happenings extending a calm demeanour to those seated in waiting.
