CBSE school at Tanjore, responding to aspirations of growing migration from the surrounding settlements, makes it’s mark as non-confirmative to general conservative schools around. Catering a developing semi-urban milieu, funded by low-profit missionary, the Architecture created drastic difference, providing the society higher standards, whilst judiciously cost-effective. The new crowd-puller ambience gives them access to a next-level educational institution. It is a minimalistic modern school design with plenty of open areas and tree courts provision around, while enhancing the indoors with double height spaces and ample natural lighting and ventilation.
Visually connected cascading corridors, magnanimous volumes, loftydouble-height entrances, smart classrooms cross-ventilated by ribbon windows to greenspaces, cheery colours and clerestoried multi-purpose hall, form apt design response. Triple-height wind-catcher emergency-exits intersperse classroom clusters, bringing strong air-flow to corridors with stack effect pull for consistent airy, naturally lit spaces. Children have singular focus inside classrooms, while engaging with Nature outside. Stepping out onto common spaces of interaction across levels, their moods shift and mind opens to more stimuli, in a socially expanding age circle within a multi-scale form.
